What is Luxury? Northacre sponsors V&A Spring exhibition

Addressing the really big and important question of our times – What is Luxury? – the V&A (in partnership with the Crafts Council) will be showing off some really nice things in its Spring exhibition while looking at how craftsmanship, design and cultural value deliver a sense of “the luxurious”.

The exhibition will also “consider time and space as fundamental aspects constituting luxury, especially within a 21st–century urban context .” Prime property developer of the moment Northacre is sponsoring.

Over 100 objects will be on display, ranging from a diamond made from roadkill to a vending machine stocked with DNA, furniture made from human hair to traditional military tailoring. There’s also some more predictable items: a golden crown for ecclesiastical use; a chandelier by Studio Drift; a Hermès Talaris saddle; the Bubble Bath necklace by Nora Fok, and lots of stuff covered in gold…
